My parents (and also me) have always heated their house with wood fire. My father kept and gave me this unusual piece of fire wood to, “maybe make something out of.” After he passed away, I decided to do that and turned the piece into a stained glass light post. Eventually, I want to it as a sidewalk light to the front of my house.
