This series of small tables was an exploration into using rammed earth. Rammed earth is a very old building technique in which dirt, clay, lime, and sand are mixed and then layers are rammed into a form to make building structures. While labor intensive, this building method provides excellent fire and insulation qualities, is great for moderating humidity in a building, is naturally non toxic, and looks beautiful.
The first and third table are left natural while I used pigmented lime plaster to finish the second one.
