This 12 person dining table was made out of a 14 foot ambrosia maple slab, three other smaller maple slabs, and an old dismantled marble fire place. The overall design was made to reflect an image of Greek ruins with the base using the marble pieces and the top finished with a white wash to and parts of the live edge left in tact to reflect the ruins. This project took a lot of creative thinking to fit and glue large patches using the smaller slabs and assemble the irregular marble pieces. We spent a considerable amount of collaborating with the client on the form versus function of the piece. In the end they were very happy with it and we commissioned to make several more pieces for them!
